This role involves planning and developing city programs and initiatives, and supervising department heads. The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate for the City Administrator position will be an experienced municipal leader with strong expertise in comprehensive planning, budgeting, and staff management. They should bring significant experience in municipal operations, having served previously in a city, village, or county administrator or assistant administrator role. Essential skills include strategic planning, budget development, and staff management. The ideal candidate will exhibit a collaborative leadership style, excel in working constructively with elected officials and community stakeholders, and demonstrate strong listening and team-building skills.

Salary Range: $160,000 - $175,000 (DOQ)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in public administration, planning, or a closely related field of study.

  • 8-10 years of work experience, including a minimum of 3-5 years as a city, village, or county administrator or assistant administrator.

  • Supervisory experience in community development, communications, and general government administration..
