The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a strategic and detail-oriented financial leader who brings deep expertise in municipal accounting, budgeting, and long-range financial planning. This individual will demonstrate strong technical knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) standards, a proven ability to develop and manage complex operating and capital budgets, and a commitment to transparency and sound fiscal stewardship. Exceptional analytical skills, clear and confident communication, and the ability to translate financial data into actionable guidance for Village leadership are essential. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative department leader who can mentor staff, strengthen internal controls, and ensure efficient, accurate financial operations. A forward-thinking professional, they will contribute meaningfully to organizational decision-making in areas such as economic development, capital financing, debt management, and long-term fiscal sustainability.
Salary Range: $101,000–$121,000

Enrollment in the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS) Pension.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration is required.
Certified Public Accountant or Certified Public Finance Officer certification (or ability to obtain).
Considerable experience in municipal accounting or financial administration, including local government operations.
Any equivalent combination of experience and education which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
