About the Position

The Finance Director/Treasurer provides leadership, management and oversight of the Village of Saukville’s financial operations. Reporting to the Village Administrator and serving as a key member of the management team, the Director oversees accounting and financial reporting, budgeting, treasury and cash management, investments, property tax collection, utility billing, payroll and benefits administration. The position plays a key role in maintaining the Village’s fiscal health and supporting sound financial decision-making.

The Ideal Candidate

The Village of Saukville seeks an experienced and collaborative finance professional to serve as its next Finance Director/Treasurer. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, cash and investment management and financial controls. This individual will provide effective oversight of the Village’s financial operations while supporting sound decision-making and long-term fiscal stability.    

The successful candidate will be an approachable and effective communicator who works collaboratively with the Village Administrator, elected officials, employees and residents. They will bring strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a commitment to accuracy and accountability and a service-focused approach to municipal finance.

Hiring Range: $95,000–$105,000 (DOQ)

Excellent insurance and benefits package. Enrollment in Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS).

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field.

  • Two to three years of accounting experience; governmental accounting experience is preferred.

  • Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience may be considered.

  • Ability to become a Certified Municipal Treasurer under Wisconsin Statutes.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, cash management and financial controls.

  • Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with elected officials, employees and the public.
