Village of Dane Appoints Mark Steward as its First Village Administrator

DANE, WI (August 5, 2025): The Village of Dane is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Steward as its first Village Administrator. Steward will commence his duties on September 2, 2025.

“On behalf of the Village Board, I’m pleased to welcome Mark as the Village of Dane’s first Administrator,” said Village President Don Postler. “Mark brings a wealth of experience, and his leadership will be instrumental in guiding our continued growth and enhancing the services we provide to residents.”

Mark Steward brings more than two decades of diverse experience in public administration, community development, and planning. He has served as a City Administrator, Planning and Zoning Director, and Senior Community Development Consultant, successfully managing budgets, leading capital projects, and securing millions in grant funding. Mark’s background includes leadership roles in both local government and the private sector, where he oversaw large-scale facilities and infrastructure initiatives. He is a Certified Planner (AICP) and active member of several professional associations, including the Wisconsin City/County Management Association. Known for his collaborative leadership, policy expertise, and hands-on experience in zoning, TIF, economic development, and emergency management.
