City of Fond du Lac Announces Julianna Stohs as Community Development Director
Fond du Lac, Wis. (May 11, 2026): The City of Fond du Lac is pleased to announce the hiring of Julianna Stohs as Community Development Director. Stohs will begin her service with the City on June 1.
Stohs brings experience in community and economic development, strategic planning, and partnership-building within Wisconsin local government. She currently serves as Community and Economic Development Director for the City of Waupaca, where she leads development initiatives, oversees planning and zoning functions, and advances downtown revitalization and housing strategies. Her experience also includes roles with the International Republican Institute in Washington, DC, the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC), and the Wisconsin Department of Administration, where she supported grant administration, housing initiatives, and community development programs. Stohs holds a Master of International Public Affairs from the University of Wisconsin–Madison La Follette School of Public Affairs.
City Manager Joseph Moore expressed enthusiasm about the appointment and confidence in Stohs’ ability to lead the department. “Julianna is an exceptionally intelligent professional with a strong understanding of community development and municipal operations,” said Moore. “Her thoughtful approach, strategic mindset, and ability to translate ideas into action will allow her to excel in this role and help advance the City of Fond du Lac’s priorities.”
As Community Development Director, Stohs will guide planning, redevelopment, housing, and economic development initiatives for the City of Fond du Lac. The position also serves as a key member of the City’s executive leadership team, overseeing a broad portfolio of community development functions and supporting strategic growth and revitalization efforts.
