Village of Germantown Appoints Matthew Trebatoski, MPA, to Serve as Village Administrator
Germantown, Wis. (May 18, 2026): Tonight, the Germantown Village Board unanimously appointed Matthew Trebatoski, MPA, as the Village’s next Village Administrator. Trebatoski will officially commence his service on June 22, 2026.
Trebatoski brings more than 20 years of local government leadership experience to Germantown, with extensive expertise in public works administration, municipal finance, utilities, economic development, and executive leadership. He holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Public Administration from the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point. Trebatoski is also a Wisconsin Certified Municipal Clerk and is active in several professional municipal organizations.
Trebatoski currently serves as Director of Public Works for the City of Oak Creek, where he oversees seven public works divisions and operations involving streets, parks, forestry, fleet, stormwater, solid waste, and related municipal services. He previously served as City Administrator/Treasurer for the City of Oconomowoc and as City Manager and Clerk/Treasurer/Finance Director for the City of Fort Atkinson, where he developed significant expertise in municipal budgeting, utility oversight, tax increment financing, long-range financial planning, and organizational management.

Throughout his career, Trebatoski has led numerous impactful initiatives, including comprehensive planning efforts, infrastructure funding strategies, economic development projects, shared service agreements, and operational improvements. His accomplishments include strengthening municipal fund balances, securing state grants, implementing service efficiencies, and earning statewide and national recognition for public works excellence.
