City of Omro Appoints Kaija Snyder, MPA, to Serve as City Administrator

Omro, Wis. (June 16, 2026): Tonight, the Omro Common Council appointed Kaija Snyder, MPA, as the City of Omro’s next City Administrator following a competitive recruitment process. Snyder will commence her duties on July 20, and will serve as the City’s chief administrative officer, overseeing day-to-day municipal operations.

Snyder currently serves as City Clerk for the City of Menasha, where she oversees local, state, and federal elections, supports City Council operations, administers departmental budgets, and maintains official municipal records. Prior to her appointment as City Clerk, she served as Deputy City Clerk and Administrative Assistant to the Mayor and City Attorney and as a Grant Coordinator for The Brigade. Snyder earned a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh and has been recognized for her leadership and commitment to public service.

Mayor Mary Berndt said Snyder distinguished herself throughout the recruitment process through her professionalism, leadership potential, and commitment to public service. “Kaija impressed the Common Council with her intelligence, enthusiasm, and understanding of municipal government,” said Mayor Mary Berndt. “She brings a collaborative leadership style, strong communication skills, and a genuine passion for public service. We are excited to welcome her to Omro and look forward to working together.”

As City Administrator, Snyder will provide leadership across all City departments, oversee budget development and administration, support economic development initiatives, foster community engagement, and support and implement the Common Council’s policies and priorities.
