Village of New Glarus Appoints Amy Barnes as Clerk/Treasurer

The Village of New Glarus is pleased to announce the appointment of Amy Barnes to serve as Clerk/Treasurer. Barnes will commence her duties on November 11, 2025.

“Amy brings exceptional expertise to New Glarus, including municipal finance and clerk experience,” said Village President Roger Truttmann. “Her proven track record in local government and strong commitment to professionalism will be invaluable as we continue to serve our residents and businesses.”

Barnes joins New Glarus after serving for ten years as Clerk-Treasurer for the Village of Blanchardville. Her extensive experience includes the administration of 26 elections, payroll and benefits management, licensing, budgeting, tax roll preparation, and the execution of all governmental receipts and expenditures. She has also managed grant funding and maintained compliance with state and local reporting requirements. Barnes is a Wisconsin Certified Municipal Clerk (WCMC) and State of Wisconsin Notary Public. She completed the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay Clerk-Treasurer Institute’s Treasurer’s Completion Program and is actively pursuing her Certified Treasurer designation. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Human Resource Management from the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater.
